The Wyndham Changsha South furniture project covered 1,846 furniture items across the hotel's lobby, restaurants, banqueting facilities, meeting rooms, private dining rooms and leisure areas. The furniture package combined black walnut veneer, solid wood frames, PU finishes and selected metal details to support a coordinated interior scheme across multiple floors and functions.
Wyndham Changsha South is part of the internationally recognised Wyndham hotel brand. Its range of dining, event and leisure facilities creates varied furniture requirements, from guest-facing lounge seating and restaurant furniture to conference tables, private dining settings and poolside relaxation pieces.
Tongda Hospitality's scope focused primarily on public-area loose furniture, together with selected counters, desks and decorative furniture units. With 1,846 items in total, the project required a broad mix of furniture types to serve different operational needs while maintaining consistency in materials, finishes and construction.
Rather than supplying a single furniture category, the package covered a range of hospitality environments, each requiring furniture suited to its use, layout and atmosphere.
Level 1 – Lobby, Lounge and Arrival Areas
The first-floor package included the main lobby lounge, lobby bar, beverage counter and reception office area. Furniture items included single and multi-seat sofas, lounge chairs, bar stools, office desks, concierge desks, decorative consoles and coffee tables.
These pieces serve different purposes within the arrival experience, from informal guest seating to reception and service functions.
Level 2 – Banqueting and Event Support Areas
The second floor included banquet service counters and tables, banquet chairs, dressing-room chairs, side tables and vanity tables. The banquet sales area also included chairs, tables, occasional tables and decorative cabinets.
This scope brought together furniture for event preparation, staff functions and guest-facing activities, requiring a varied combination of practical and decorative pieces.
Level 3 – All-Day Dining Restaurant
The all-day dining restaurant received chairs, sofas, tables and decorative cabinets. The furniture package was intended to support both dining and more relaxed seating arrangements within the restaurant environment.
Level 4 – Chinese Restaurant, Meeting Rooms and Reception Areas
The fourth floor covered several distinct functions. The Chinese restaurant included dining tables and chairs, while dressing and vanity areas required chairs, side tables and vanity tables.
The VIP reception room included single sofas and side tables. Multi-function meeting rooms, including Meeting Rooms 1, 2 and 3 and the medium-sized meeting room, received conference tables and chairs. The chairman's meeting room also included a meeting table and chairs.
The banquet office was furnished with multi-seat sofas, chairs, coffee tables, side tables and decorative consoles.
Level 5 – Chinese Dining and Private Dining Rooms
Furniture for this level included decorative consoles along the corridor and long tables and chairs for the Chinese à la carte restaurant.
The private dining rooms were configured for groups of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 20 guests. Their furniture included dining tables, chairs, single and multi-seat sofas, coffee tables, side tables and decorative cabinets.
The range of room capacities required different furniture combinations to suit each private dining setting.
Level 26 – Leisure and Relaxation Areas
The upper-level package included chairs and vanity tables, together with decorative consoles in the lift lobby.
The swimming pool relaxation area received sofas, coffee tables, side tables and sun loungers. The fitness centre relaxation area included chairs and coffee tables, providing furniture for guests to rest before or after exercise.
The furniture specification combined wood-based construction with selected veneer, lacquer and metal finishes.
Substrates and timber construction
E1-grade 12 mm plywood was specified as the panel substrate, alongside quality solid wood frames. Unless otherwise noted, furniture surfaces used 0.6 mm WD-02 black walnut veneer.
The black walnut finish provided a consistent material reference across the package, while the solid wood frames formed part of the specified furniture construction.
Paint finish
The specified coating was standard PU paint from TAIHO PAINT (Taiwan), supporting the required finish across the relevant furniture components.
Metal details
Selected metal elements included brushed brass, brushed black bronze, aluminium frames and metal bases. These details added material variation to the furniture package while allowing different pieces to respond to their individual design and functional requirements.
Hardware
Häfele drawer runners and hinges were specified, with other hardware selected from the factory's standard range.
Fabric, leather and marble selections were subject to the project's specified material allowances. The final materials and finishes were governed by the relevant furniture specifications.
One of the defining characteristics of this project was the variety of spaces included in the furniture scope. Lobby seating, restaurant furniture, private dining settings, conference furniture and leisure-area pieces each serve different purposes, even when they share a common material palette.
The package therefore required coordination across several dimensions: furniture type, intended use, surface finish, upholstery and metal details, as well as the hardware specified for individual items.
This is an important consideration in hotel furniture projects. Consistency does not mean making every item identical. It means maintaining a coherent overall finish and level of workmanship while allowing each area to function as intended.
The project also reflects the breadth of furniture typically required in full-service hotels, where public spaces extend beyond the lobby to dining, meetings, events, offices and recreation.
The Wyndham Changsha South project comprised 1,846 furniture items across multiple floors and functional areas. The scope included lobby and lounge furniture, restaurant tables and chairs, banqueting and private dining furniture, conference tables and chairs, office furniture, decorative units and leisure-area seating.
The specified materials included E1-grade plywood, solid wood frames, 0.6 mm WD-02 black walnut veneer, standard PU coating, selected metal finishes and Häfele runners and hinges.
For Tongda Hospitality, this project represents a broad public-area furniture package that brings together multiple furniture types, material details and operational requirements within one hotel property.
